When we moved in, more than half the windows were original to the house. Although they lent a certain antique charm to the house:
there was nothing charming when the A/C bill came due in the Houston summers! So we called Window World... and our whole world has changed (with regards to our windows). Window World replaced our old windows with brand spanking new, high-tech, low heat conduction windows. Best of all, the installation was included! They just popped the old ones out and stuck the new ones in.
And, well, I couldn't help myself, I just had to step through one of the holes where our windows had been:
They're pretty, they save us money, and best of all, now all the windows in our house open!! Look at those nice new windows:
I can't wait to put my sticky fingerprints all over them when I housesit!

ReplyDeleteNice! And since it's been a few years since this post I know you are still loving both the windows and the savings on your electric bill. We live in a Mid-50s home and while we wanted to say with original windows, it simply became too impractical. More cold air came in in the winter then we could crank out in the summer!!
