Tragedy Strikes (Our Crappy Fence)

Just after Easter there was a storm that took out one of our trees.  It is too bad because it was a lovely, healthy tree.  The good news is that no one was hurt and no (major) damage was done.  The bad news is that this is what it looks like in our back yard right now.

That is one big stick for Norman to fetch.

Later Gators

Apparently there are lots of gators in Texas.  We did not know this.  Until recently.  (All those wasted gator-free years...)

Just look at all these gators we saw!

What is not apparent from these photos is Eddy is afraid of gators. What is also not apparent from these pictures is that these gators were so wee! They were super cute. Eddy was super scared. Thankfully we brought Norman along to protect us.

Sadly, none of the gators actually moved much at all so Norman never noticed them. We also brought a picnic lunch. Normally, this would be a kind of boring observation, but just look at ALL of the pasta salad we totally devoured in like 10 minutes.

Also, homemade chicken wings and smoothies. Gone.

Gators make us real hungry.

Same Beach, Bigger Puppy

The weather has been nice here in Texas for quite awhile.  I am not the only one who has been excited about this. For instance, the mere sight of sunscreen makes Norman so excited that we can't even get an un-blurry picture of him running through the house with it in his mouth.

We did get lots of un-blurry pictures of him at the beach later that day, though.

It has been awhile since Norman's last (photo documented) trip to the beach. Just look!

Long Time No Rodeo

So it has been awhile since we last blogged. It isn't so much that we haven't been doing anything. It's more that we have been doing *everything*!

One of the exciting things we did was that Carol, Rick, and Ceci came to visit just in time for the rodeo. I'll just go ahead and say that we saw some amazing things this year:
  • We saw a baby lamb become born!
  • We petted a wallaby!
  • We (never) saw the piglet races! (Can't win 'em all)
The bad news is that during all of the excitement, we really only got the following pictures:

The good news is that we got these pictures while antique shopping earlier that weekend.

The Nagging Bar

So now that the kitchen and bathroom are finished (!) we can finally start socializing with people again. The interesting thing is that Rupert (the fraidy cat) has decided that he now loves everyone.

Also, Dana dubbed the bar the "nagging bar" because it's the perfect place to sit and direct Eddy as he slaves away in the kitchen.

Even babies can nag Eddy. It's true!
