Meet Harry Potter

Meet Harry Potter.* He showed up at our house one Tuesday morning.

He was hungry, dirty and as sweet as he could be. We decided he could use a little help so we stuck him in our back yard with some food and water and ran off to work. When I got home that night I tried to bathe away his stinks and we found this:

[This is a picture of his open wound after 2 days of antibiotics and hydrotherapy.]

For the time being he is a part of our family (or our pack and pride, as our pet sitter calls them.)

Soon we will be joining forces with a foster care organization to find a home for him. So if you know anyone who would like a Harry Potter who:

  • Is a gentle, loving, and enthusiastic little dog
  • Is house trained
  • Is learning to sit, stay, and come

we would love to connect you with our adoption agency.**

*Eddy named Harry Potter because we often call Norman "you-know-who."  If you get this reference, you are also a dork.
**Hermoine Granger and Ronald Weasley not included.

Emerging Patterns

Yeah, so, in addition to our bathroom remodel craze...  Okay, and the dining room...  We are also totally overhauling the kitchen.  I know, I know.  We're crazy to the max.  The good news is that we are actually paying professionals to work on the kitchen.  As a result, total demolition of what once was our kitchen took exactly 4 hours.

Turns out, there was some pretty amazing vintage wallpaper (original to the house?) underneath all of the drywall.

Also, at least one of the workers has been creating artwork.

So there are some patterns emerging here.  Wallpaper patterns.  And demolition patterns.  Also, snake skull patterns.

'Fessing Up

The truth is, I didn't end up doing quite as much of the bathroom demolition as that last post may have suggested.  I did some cute ripping out of tiles, but it was really Eddy who decimated our second bathroom.

Sadly, there was a minor tragedy along the way.

Also, I had to apply about 3k Bandaids to Eddy. So, you know, my contribution to the demolition work should not be overlooked.

Demolition Derby

So yeah, our kitchen is real disheveled these days.

Before:

10.11.2012 032

After:

10.11.2012 056

10.11.2012 067

Like eating dinner out every night disheveled.

10.11.2012 045

10.11.2012 041

Also, the madness is not isolated to the kitchen.

10.11.2012 043

10.11.2012 030

10.11.2012 028

10.11.2012 027

If you have ever wondered how awesome it would be to have us over for dinner, now would be a great time to explore that idea.  We promise to return the favor once our kitchen is fully functional again.

This Is Not an Indulgence Session for Nancy Reagan

Norman has been attending a new training class at Discovery Green. It's pretty intense, but we have had some great results with him. Also, there's a dog there named Nancy Reagan.

Just try to focus on your dog when the instructor yells, "This is not an indulgence session for Nancy Reagan!" Lucky for us, a colleague of Eddy's is there with her super schmancy camera and she is kind enough to share her photos with us!

Here's the result of a 1 hour session.
