An Appealing Curb

We've been kind of taking it slow working on the front yard with the semi-rainy season we've had this winter, but recently there was a mostly sunny weekend and we decided to take advantage of it to redo our front landscaping.

This is what we had when we moved in.

Those bushes. Ugh. Not really my thing. Look! It's all of their stuff in crates on moving day!

When we painted the house we still had those ugly bushes to contend with.

Awhile back we spruced up the driveway area.

Then a few weeks before we got started I chopped down those enemies of mine, the bushes!

Muahahahaha! So this is what we were left with when we got started one Saturday morning.

Ugly little parking strip.

Between stones, mulch, soil, and plants we made about 7 loads over the weekend in our faithful Subaru.

Then we dug and planted and mulched our little hearts out all weekend.

Here's our finished parking strip.

And here are the beds closer to the house.

Can't wait until these little lavenders grow up.

These tall pots in our little camellia + rhododendron triangle are definitely my favorite part.

Finally, a little more curb appeal around these parts.
